Overall the photos were done with excellent taste. Was it worth the $$, I would say no. Does it provide a great conversation for anyone that walks into the living room and sees it on the coffee table? YES

From the Wreckage
This book makes you want to see MURDERBALL which apparently is a real life story of rugby played by paraplegics and quadriplegics.Zupan is technically a quadriplegic, for all foru limbs have at least some degree of damage, but he can stand up when he has to (say, to pull on a pair of pants) and even walk a few steps--if he's got something to hold onto.He was the victim in a tragic drunken driving accident that occurred when he was only 18, a few weeks into college.He was thrown into a Florida canal and left for dead for nearly fourteen hours, just managing to keep his mouth above water and to squeak out, "H-e-e-e-e-l-l-l-l-p" every now and then.Eventually a good Samaritan heard him and had him hauled out.His father was so upset that when he had to fill out the hospital forms at the ER, he filled in "my son" in the box that said "Name of Patient" when he should of course have written "Mark Zupan."
A great read!!!

New Edition is Way Better
I'm a multi sport athlete who trains all year round regardless of what sport I play. I bought a few of these Ultimate Guide to Weight Training books, and they definitely helped me train specifically for the different sports that I play. Then about a year later I received an email from amazon that there was a new edition out.These upgraded editions are even better than the originals, with more articles and a lot more sport-specific information. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who plays a lot of sports or wants to specifically focus on training for one sport in particular.

The illustrations are excellent. This book offers all the help you need to get started in your training for rugby. It even provides charts so you can keep a record of your progress.

great resource
I have re-read this book four times now, and I have to say that I've gotten something more out of it each time.It is well written by two men who know the game from the grassroots level up to the international without making presumptions or patronizing the reader.It kept me entertained and educated throughout.Definately worth the time and money from the greenest of rookies to the wylie vets.

Excellent source for rugby informations
I bought this book just a couple of months ago and I must say, it is definately worth the money you're paying for it. I just started to play rugby this January, and as a beginner, I was searching for a book that would not only explain the rules of rugby, but that would also explain everything else about rugby to me: where the sport orginated, which professional teams exist, what kind of risk is involved in it, what important events in rugby history are, how to use specific tactics and techniques, and all that kind of stuff. With "Rugby for Dummies" I've found this book! It explains all that and much more in an easy to read style and with a bunch of illustrations... it's actually just perfect for everyone who is interested in playing rugby or who already started to play but who still needs all the basic information about his new sport... Without any doubt, I highly recommend this product :)

Big Ben!!
Big Ben: 27-4 as a starter (2004-2005 seasons)---only losses (3 of which were injury-related): Patriots, 2004 AFC Championship game (if Plax holds on to sure TD pass, we are only down 7 with about 7+ minutes to go in that game; Ben did some good things and was battling thumb and toe injuries) and also in 2005 (if Randle El doesn't get `cute' and lateral that pass to Ward, we probably win; again, Ben did some good things), as well as the Bengals in 2005 (Ben has beaten Carson Palmer's Bengals 3 times: twice in 2004 and big-time in the AFC Wild-Card game in 2005; Ben had 3 TD passes in this lone defeat and was battling a thumb injury) and Indy in 2005 (as we know, he got revenge in the AFC Divisional Playoff game; Ben threw a TD pass to Ward in this Monday night defeat and was coming off an injury-induced layoff).

Phenomenon book
So far i have found all the little details i needed to know about the game. Easy to follow presentation too, two thumbs way up.

Of the numerous football guides I've read, this is the firstbook that actually went beyond the X's and O's of football. As the title says, it not only discusses the on-field game, but also preparation, team building, and the mental side of the game. A Great Coaching Reference
A book that any coach should have.It gets the wheels going in your mind allowing you to develop new schemes.Its interesting to read other famous coach's ideas on topics like the Double Wing, Passing from your own endzone, and using the 50 front.

Buy this one
This is a great book.It's has tons of valuable information.Not for the guy who loves pictures.Your coaches and captains should have this book.It will make you a better coach, and improve the quality of your club's play.If you want to keep losing, but have the best parties, get some other book. Best book out there
Great, great book.Both for the new rugby player and the old hand.Only criticism I have is that more illustrations and diagrams would be helpful for the total newbie. However, since that wasn't the intended audience it only becomes a problem because there's nothing else comparable out there.Like the Bible, everytime you read it, you learn something new every time.Or something that you weren't ready to understand before becomes suddenly clear.A must-have for the rugby obsessed.

This book is great for rugby players of all levels and positions. The chapters are well laid out and offer general instruction and then move on to skills sessions in varying degrees of difficulty. The book gives a great overview on the basics of the game, and winning rugby is all about sticking to the basics.

Step by step
As a significant resource for my 2006 playbook, this book helped my staff clearly outline position responsibilites and develop a training scheme for specific skill sets. It's more than Xs and Os, this book is about fundamentals and then some.

Complete Linebacking!
This book teaches coaches and players how to play the Linebacker position.Coach Tepper has done a great job of producing fantastic linebackers.Within the book he shares the tools to be the best.Several of the reviews below are about the LSU team and don't have anything to do with playing the linebacker position.One reviewer even talks about Edinboro University where Coach Tepper is the head coach now being a losing team.They have made two straight trip to the D2 playoffs and 2 PSAC West Championships.But none of that has anything to do with him being a great Linebacker coach.

When I first started playing Quarterback I went out and found all the books I could find on the position and this helped me most, It covers the mechanics of quarterbacking real well. some of it is real basic but it can give you a whole new outlook on how important the basics are.
