5-0 out of 5 stars Do yourself a favor
Buy this book then read it , think about it then reread it. I bought the hardcover 10 months ago. I immediately saw I was heading down the wrong road. I completely "stopped" with my child. I knew I was making some mistakes that needed correcting. this book was a godsend. No matter how serious or casual the goals for you child , this book will make you think and help you develop a more positive long term approach. My daughter and I are still extremely involved, we just enjoy it more. Now she drags me to the tennis court. I reread this book every other month. My thanks to the author. enough said

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautifully and Simply Written
I like the way this book is written. Yes, it's for "kids", but it doesn't read like a child-like book. It speaks to children, coaches and parents in a way that is intelligent, clear and empathetic.

5-0 out of 5 stars I wish I had read earlier....
I wish this book was around years ago (I am now an empty nester, my sons are married). My two sons played the junior tennis tournaments, but are now into golf. There is so much useful information and guidance I wish I had access to when my kids were growing up. Kudos to Keith for a book critically important for any tennis parent. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Read

3-0 out of 5 stars North Am Squash
The title of the book is misleading - it is purely about North American squash history.4-0 out of 5 stars Instant Classic of a Mine Unworked
This book, as the forward by the late George Plimpton indicates, is the first comprehensive history of American squash, and it is a hard act to follow. As such it is pretty much assured "instant classic" status.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Book On Squash YouCan Buy!!
The more drills you will do the MORE "LUCKY" you will be in the court. Best squash drill book available in the market. Don't miss it if you see it anywhere!!

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent book for squash players
I have recently become a squash player and picked Pippa Sales' book tohelp me.I couldn't have chosen a better one.Written in very clearlanguage with excellent drill descriptions. The stretch exercises in theback of the book are wonderful, even for non-squash players. This book iswell worth the alrleady bargain price. I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This guide has definitely helped my game
"Improve Your Squash Game" is everything it promised to be andhas helped me to improve some aspects of my game that I was not happy with. The chapter "14 Tips to improve your overall game" wasabsolutely well worth buying the book. The drills actually make me enjoymy drilling sessions and have improved my game markedly. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good entry level book
This book does a good job teaching the fundamentals and my game has improved since reading it. My only gripe is that I would have liked to have seen more diagrams in the book (particularly the chapters on serves and returns) rather than photos of players, in the book. Overall, good book for the money. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Information that is Very Valuable
One has to apply the information that has been read from this book and use it on the racquetball court. The information is very direct, and their is no mystery to it. One of the authors who contributed information on this book [Woody Clouse] emphasizes that one has to practice hitting alot ofballs on the court, lift weights, and run sprints in order to get better asa player-Male or Female.International Racquetball commissioner HankMarcus along with Irt player Jon Ellis give this book a very positiveevaluation. The book has many pictures illustrating situations where onehas too be hitting the ball away from the player, etc. The book has severalchapters that emphasize all the aspects of game-conditioning, nutrition. The book also has several pictures of players who play on the professionaltour. Cliff Swain, Andy Roberts, Mike Ray, Drew Kachtik , and RubenGonzales are some of the player photographs one will see in this book.Ihave to say that my play was really very limited and highly primitive. Ionly knew how toserve the most basic serve in racquetball and that wasthe drive, and that was the only shot I knew since the beginning. I wasvery fortunate that when I was playing the game I purchased this bookduring the time to help improve my play. It has been a couple of monthsnow, and my play is alot better. I can do a Z-serve, a left and right driveserve, and my lob is coming there. I also learned to hit the ball away frommy opponent and not to hit the ball to him or her but away from myopponent. Alot of patience is needed, and alot of practicing if one desiresto improve. So if your a racquetball player who is from Moscow, Russia, orTijuana ,Mexico, or from Houston Texas who wants to be more knowledgeableplaying the game, I highly recommend this book too you.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not much solid information here.
I was disappointed by the lack of advanced instruction in this book.Winning Racquetball includes precious little information that an intermediate player wouldn't already know.It seems this book is mostlyfiller.I was expecting insight on advanced strategies and how to improveon fundamentals.Instead I found a lot of information on how I should eatand what I should wear.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb. This book taught me a lot about the game!
If you gotta have just one book to win in racquetball-- this is it!My friends (after being frustrated with my newfound techniques) were surprised about my transformation... from a novice player to a real good contenderwithin a month.I plan to join tournaments soon and win. Thanks to thisbook. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book
I found the book to be very helpful and informative.I have just begun playing competitively for the past year and found that the graphics/steps really have helped my game. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is just developing their game.I have bought other table tennis books, but they lacked the graphics this book has, so I am very happy with this purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Table Tennis Book For Beginners-Intermediates
This book is one of the best book on table tennis that I have ever read. The clear and concise text makes this book very readable. While you may not turn into a table tennis champion overnight, following the instructions by Mr. Hodges by disciplined practice, a newcomer to the sport can learn the game, but it can also be used as a reference for intermediate players to correct their stroke or to improve it.4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent slient coach!
I highly recommend this book as a supplementary material for references as technique guidelines and theory support. In fact, I dont' think anyone can actually learn any sport from any book, however well-written the book may be.Table-tennis is no exception. As is indicated in the book, to learn to play the game, you need to practice. With this book, however, you can correct your weakness, look up for any question you gathered during the practice. The book covers almost all the basic drills in the modern table-tennis game.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic reference
Both beginners and more advanced players should be able to get a lot out of this quality reference work as it offers detailed (yet practical) text, illustrationa and diagrams covering all aspects of the game. The book is considered by most experts in the sport to be among the top two or three instructionals ever published on Squash. It won't make you a championship quality player, but it should help your game no matter what skill level you are currently at.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Book on drills
I found the drills in this book to be very helpful in improving my game. It is an excellent resource for beginners/intermediate players. The drills are very good for improving accuracy. For those of you willing to impove their game this book is an excellent buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars A review from squash lover
I bought this book to look at the drills and the workouts one needs to do to imporve the oncourt acceleration, endurance and stamina. This books have lot of drills which one can do to improve his or her game. Lot of strokes can be practised by oneself but there are a lot of drills that the book describes which need the help of a partner, which are very good for ball control like playing a game where both partners hit the ball to the back of the court and point is scored if the person hits short of the mid court line. etc., etc.,Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This books hits the "tin", just as a bad squash stroke would
I read the book hoping I would gain some insight into the game I have been playing at a competitive level for over 8 years.I was disappointed to find out that despite having been written by one of squash's legends,Hashim Khan, it fails, on every account, to provide any useable informationfor either begginers or advanced players.Nor are the illustrations withinthe pages of the book inspiring.I do not recommend this book for anyonelooking to gain or deepen their wisdom of this fascinating sport. If Iwere a squash referee, I'd call a "let point" against this book.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun book. Not good for learning the game
I bought the book hoping to learn squash, being a beginner. I was disappointed to find that it wasn't written for that purpose. It has nuggets of wisdom from one of the greats, so I suspect it could be more interesting for an advanced player of for a squash aficionado, but not for someone looking to learn the game from the ground up. ...
